Electric Vehicles and Charging
GMR have years of experience and long standing relationships with vehicle manufacturers built up over years of researching the most efficient ways to run vehicle fleets large and small.
Manufacturers have and continue to make huge strides in the reduction of emissions and increases in fuel efficiency in both the car and commercial sectors. Development and new technology is moving at the quickest pace since the birth of the motor vehicle as we move into a zero emission future. GMR ensure we are constantly up to date with the very latest developments including technology still in development due to our strong relationships with some of the most recognisable brands in the world.
We are already moving at pace towards an electric car future, with Tesla leading the charge for some years now and with the established brands catching up very quickly. We are however still in the early days of the electric commercial vehicle, largely due to the perception of range issues and more work needed to make the move feasible with an extensive charging infrastructure.
If we look at the use of EV commercial from a short range prospective however, it may become more attractive to commercial users to make the change sooner rather than later as more and more commercial EVs come to market.
The relentless move to an EV future means huge leaps forward in charging infrastructure are necessary on a large scale over the next 10 years leading up to 2030.
The demand for fast charging facilities in both the private and commercial sectors is set to grow exponentially and GMR has begun an extensive research into funding an installation services for companies and individuals as well as looking at how to best integrate EV technology into new infrastructure, to offer high voltage connections with guaranteed future capacity for motorway service areas, bus companies, fleet depots, local authorities and residential developments.
